Drone photography highlights transformation ahead of 2026 opening

Basingstoke Golf Club has released striking new images of its £20 million redevelopment, giving golfers a first detailed look at the venue’s transformation ahead of its official opening in May 2026.

Captured by UK golf photographer James Hogg, the images include both drone footage and stills that highlight the course layout, dramatic bunker design, and contrasts between the fescue and greens.

General Manager David Green said:

“We are delighted with James’ new images, which do justice to both the natural beauty of the course and the high standards our team maintain. They capture exactly why we are so proud of the course and are a fantastic advertisement for the golfing experience on offer here.”

Course and facilities

The par-72 layout, designed by Weller Designs, is part of the club’s relocation project to a new site in the village of Dummer. Alongside the new course, members and guests will benefit from:

Hogg, who will return in spring 2026 for another photoshoot once the course officially opens, added:

“The vibrant colours and stunning contrasts show just how special this renovation is. The clubhouse combines modern style with natural surroundings, and I’m looking forward to returning once the new facilities are fully open.”

A club with history

Founded in 1907, Basingstoke Golf Club has long been one of the most established clubs in Hampshire. After nearly a century at Kempshott Park, the club moved to Dummer in 2023 to begin its redevelopment. The new downland course is expected to be one of the most talked-about designs in the southeast when it officially opens.
