Cobra Golf’s new OPTM metalwoods lineup includes two women’s driver models and matching fairways and hybrids, offering a blend of power, consistency, and custom fitting options

Cobra Golf has launched its latest range of metalwoods under the new “OPTM” banner — a redesign that focuses on improving accuracy by reducing something called POI (Product of Inertia), a newer concept that builds on the traditional understanding of MOI (Moment of Inertia). For women golfers, two new driver models — the OPTM MAX-K and MAX-D — are available in tailored versions, both priced at £479 in the UK.

These new women’s drivers are designed to provide maximum forgiveness and directional consistency, particularly for players seeking either all-around stability or help with correcting a slice.

What’s New with OPTM?

At the heart of Cobra’s OPTM range is the shift in focus from MOI to POI. While MOI helps reduce twisting on off-centre hits across the vertical and horizontal axes, POI looks at how the clubhead behaves in three dimensions — diagonally across all axes. Lowering POI, according to Cobra, helps produce more consistent shot shapes and tighter dispersion, which translates to improved accuracy.

The two women’s drivers feature the same core technologies as the men’s versions but are offered with lighter components and slightly different aesthetics.

OPTM MAX-K Women’s Driver – Designed for Forgiveness

The OPTM MAX-K women’s driver is designed for golfers who prioritise forgiveness. Its oversized clubhead and high MOI design make it easier to keep the ball in play, even on mis-hits. It’s available in a 12-degree loft setting, adjustable between 10 and 14 degrees using Cobra’s FUTUREFIT33 hosel, which allows for 33 different loft and lie combinations.

This model features a black gloss crown with silver and mint green accents, and comes standard with a lightweight MCA Vanquish 40 shaft in Ladies flex and an undersize Lamkin SuperStroke grip.

OPTM MAX-D Women’s Driver – Built to Fight the Slice

The MAX-D is geared toward players who struggle with a slice, offering built-in draw bias and heel-weighted design to help straighten out ball flight. Like the MAX-K, it’s offered in a 12-degree head (adjustable from 10 to 14 degrees), and comes in both right- and left-handed options — though the left-handed version is available by custom order only.

It also shares the same shaft and grip setup as the MAX-K model and retails at the same price point.
